All my life I’ve enjoyed baking. Creating homemade cakes for family and friends. I grew up in a household where home cooked food was at the heart of family life and baking a cake with my mum every Saturday for the weekend was a ritual. Even when I went to university I was the one known amongst my fellow students to bake homemade treats. It became a hobby for me trying out and perfecting recipes. I was a scientist in my career so the science of baking has always interested me and as you can imagine my work colleagues benefitted from my hobby. When my own children were born I decided to bake a special birthday cake for them every year. As the years passed my children would start choosing the design they’d like each year, challenging me to make more complicated designs and my reputation soon spread to making and decorating cakes for their friends. In 2017 I decided to hang up my science lab coat and register as a full time cake maker and so Cakeolicious was born.
